Supernature wins RIBA’s Housing Competition

CTA were joint winners together with Metropolitan Workshop with Sir Richard MacCormac, WT Partnership, XC02 and Lee Mallet, for the Housing in the Private Rental Market Ideas Competition, launched by The Wates Group together with the RIBA.

From the Judges: ‘This scheme uses the British gardening obsession to kickstart and maintain a new community, with a clear idea of how this might be facilitated and made to work. The courtyard cluster typologies provide a well resolved take on the requirement for spatial flexibility in a typology which seem eminently suitable for the PRS. A lively and engaging proposal, beautifully presented, which felt plausible for todays PRS market.’

Slip House has made the shortlist (last 6) of the prestigious WAN (World) House of the Year 2013 awards. It is the only urban house on the list and we await the outcome with excitement.

The house has been designed to Code for Sustainable Homes level 5, and is an exemplar for brownfield, terraced regeneration. We have developed the concept with Slip Street, showing how this flexible house type can form new streets, squares and pocket parks.
